Winter Is Here And Sudan’s Families Can’t Stay Warm or Fed

Hot meals for families facing war, hunger, and cold nights.

Sudan’s crisis hasn’t slowed down; it has deepened. After months of conflict and collapse, millions of families are displaced, struggling to find food, safety, and the most basic protection. As winter nights turn colder, parents are trying to keep children warm while their stomachs are empty.

For families living in makeshift shelters, overcrowded camps, or damaged homes, a hot meal is more than food; it is warmth, strength, and dignity.

This winter, UMMA Foundation is on the ground providing hot meals to help families survive the season and reduce suffering in the hardest-hit communities.

Sudan’s Winter Crisis in Numbers

  • 30.4 million people need humanitarian assistance in 2025.
  • 21.2 million people face acute hunger (IPC).
  • ~10 million people are displaced; about half are children.
  • Famine conditions have been confirmed in besieged areas including El Fasher and Kadugli.

Without urgent support, winter conditions will continue to worsen living conditions for thousands of households.

Our Winter Mission in Sudan: Hot Meals That Bring Warmth

UMMA Foundation’s winter response is focused on one urgent goal:

  • a family makes it through another night
