What Does Umma Foundation Do?

Umma Banner Palestine

Umma Foundation is a Muslim-led humanitarian nonprofit that channels faith into action. We work across Gaza, Yemen, Sudan, and underserved U.S. neighborhoods, delivering life-saving aid, building long-term resilience, and amplifying underrepresented voices.

If you're wondering, “what does Umma Foundation do?” — the answer is simple:
We feed the hungry, heal the sick, uplift the displaced, and give voice to stories that deserve to be heard.

Umma Farm

A Tree That Feeds Generations

The Umma Farm is a 550-acre sustainable agriculture initiative in Sudan planting over 35,000 palm trees. These trees fund:

  • Food programs in Gaza and Sudan
  • Water access, including solar-powered irrigation
  • Healthcare and education through reinvested harvest profits

Your donation doesn’t just plant a tree—it nurtures futures for generations.

UMMA Hope Bus

Mobile Humanitarian Aid on the Streets of New York

When hunger doesn't wait, neither do we. The UMMA Hope Bus is our fleet of mobile relief vehicles bringing hot meals, essential supplies, and human connection directly to the people who need it most—on the streets, under bridges, and at shelters across New York City.

Born from the legacy of Muslims Giving Back, the UMMA Hope Bus program has grown into one of the most recognized Muslim-led street outreach initiatives in the U.S. Every week, our volunteer-powered buses roll out to serve:

  • Freshly prepared halal meals and clean drinking water
  • Winter clothing, blankets, and hygiene kits
  • Free grooming services and personal care for the unhoused
  • Compassion and conversation—because dignity is not optional

The UMMA Hope Bus doesn't just deliver food. It delivers proof that someone cares.
